Autoimmune Disease and My 25 weeks Journey

Autoimmune Disease and My 25 weeks Journey

Hi, I’m here to talk to you about Autoimmune Disease. The World Health Organization has claimed that Autoimmune Disease is at a crisis level worldwide. Today over 2 million Canadians are diagnosed with some type of Autoimmune Disease and over 50 million Americans - that’s 1 in 6 Americans with an Autoimmune Disease, whether it be Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Type 1 Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis - there are over 100 types of Autoimmune Disease, often resulting in life-changing, debilitating results. I’m not here to tell you that I have the cure, but I’m here just to share my story, and maybe there’s something in that that can help you. I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis in 1995, and I’ve been on some type of medication ever since. Medication that modified the disease, and as each medication stopped working I would try another one with my specialists’ help. I’ve always been very thankful for the medication, it allowed me to live relatively pain-free and mobile. Without it I was quickly becoming immobile and unable to do the daily tasks of life. But I’ve now found something that works even better, because the medication was simply a bandaid solution, not really dealing with the root cause. After some research of my own, I found leaky gut syndrome and I’m convinced that for me that is a huge part of a contributing factor and cause to my Autoimmune Disease. It’s like a perfect storm - there’s a genetic predisposition, stress plays a huge part, and then leaky gut, the permeability of your intestinal wall to let all types of bad stuff come through your intestine and out to your bloodstream. It’s meant to be excreted, and when you have leaky gut it’s not. I have now been off my immunosuppressant medication, an injectable, for 25 weeks! That’s 25 needles that I am not missing! And I feel fantastic! I’m not taking any medication for inflammation. No medication for my Psoriatic Arthritis, and I’ve been on an injectable since 2000 and it’s now 2019. That is a huge win for me! I am celebrating, and I would invite you and encourage to to seek some information, do your own research. Please ask me questions, and I would love to help you. Thank you for watching.
